Maria Garza Obituary

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on September 11, 2021 after a short battle with COVID-19. Maria was born on January 18, 1950; born and raised in Weslaco, Texas where she met her loving husband of 29 years, Adolfo Garza Jr. They later moved to the Dallas area where they raised their only daughter Ida Jeanette Garza. Maria retired from Custom Buildings after 16 years. She dedicated her retirement to her husband, daughter, and nine children. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time with her three sisters. Maria loved to sing to Mexican music (Tejano and Cumbias). Maria's favorite hobby and talent was sewing and making clothes for her family and friends. She was a Christian who loved God and lived by His word. Maria had a great impact on all who knew and met her. 

She will be forever cherished and remembered by her husband, Adolfo Garza Jr., daughter, Ida Jeanette Garza and son-in-law, Rodrigo C. Luna, grandsons, Ismael Lucio (Dilliano), Elijah Luna, and Rodrigo Luna (Little Boy), granddaughters,  Denayli Lucio, Celeste Luna, Iyla Lucio, Briella Lucio, Skylar Luna, and Violet Luna, brother, Jorge Medina, Sisters, Alma Fox, Estela Castro, and Gloria Gutierrez, niece, Erica Lyn Fox, nephew, Israel Fox Jr., and a host of family members and friends that loved her. 

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Luis Medina, mother, Guadalupe Medina, and nephew, Terry Medina.
