Johnny Reginald Finley, 62, of Dallas, Texas, passed away June 18, 2021 at Parkland Hospital. Regie was born May 31, 1959 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Lessie Mae (Gordon) Caldwell and Johnny Hesakyle Finley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lessie Mae (Gordon) Caldwell and Johnny Hesakyle Finley, brother Mark Finley, Aunt Hazel Mitchell, Uncles Calvin, Bill and Robert Gordon and his loving fur baby Tyson. Regie is survived by his brother David Wayne Caldwell of Bristow, Oklahoma, his niece Shannia Marie Caldwell of Bristow, Oklahoma, Aunt Mattie Strachan of California, Step-Father Terry Hagler of Bristow, Oklahoma, Jeanetta Mitchell and James Mitchell of Bristow, Oklahoma and multiple cousins.
Many of you knew Regie through his professional alter ego, the incomparable Raghenna. Miss Raghenna was the consummate entertainer and emcee. She dazzled audiences throughout the Midwest and across Texas. Anyone who ever had the privilege of seeing her perform never forgot her. Her incredible talent and stage presence was enhanced by her remarkable intelligence and her rapid-fire wit! Her stunning beauty and piercing eyes could stop you in your tracks and her infectious laugh filled the room. You could not help but be entranced. One of her most cherished achievements was being crowned Miss Gay Oklahoma in 1990. Her reign was so important and influential she was eventually name Miss Gay Oklahoma emeritus. Miss Raghenna led a remarkable career which included being show director of several leading nightclubs, including Sterlings of Tulsa. With a steadfast rule of professionalism and kindness, she inspired a generation of performers and a legion of fans. You earn that pinnacle of success through hard work and dedication to your craft. When you combine that with grace and love you create a star. Heaven has a brilliant new jewel in the night sky and we have the lasting memory of having touched that star, as she touched us. She will never be forgotten.
