Obituary

Ernest James Cason Jr., February 16, 1953 to December 18, 2021 was the son of Ernest James Cason Sr. and Dr. Nellie D. Wiggins (Cason). Ernest was a graduate of JN Ervin School in Dallas, Texas and went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D. C.

Ernest was a charismatic extrovert, with the ability to create new bonds wherever he went. His spirit and laughter left an imprint. Ernest lived many years abroad, favoring the Caribbean for its carefree lifestyle, island beauty, and plant medicine. He returned home to Dallas a few years ago to make amends and reconnect with family and friends.

He is survived his daughter, Schantelle Cason and granddaughter Lana Simone Wenger (California), a sister and brother-in-law Florence C. Foster & Larry Foster, a niece Nellita Reeves, grandnieces Karmela Berrones, Arabella Aspen Reeves and grandnephews Elias and Zion Reeves and a nephew Frank Harvey II (Dallas) along with dozens of Cason cousins, extended family, chosen brothers Kenneth Waters, Larry Samuels, Ray Brantley and numerous friends.
